ASHEVILLE, N.C. - UNC Asheville Women's Swimming and Diving has earned Spring Scholar All-America Team honors from the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA), recently announced by the organization.
Â
To earn the honor, a team must achieve a grade point average of at least 3.0 for the semester. UNC Asheville Women's Swimming and Diving has earned the honor 26 consecutive semesters, every semester since the program's inception in 2012.
Â
UNC Asheville posted a 3.72 grade point average for the spring semester, along with two Academic All-ASUN selections and four College Sports Communicators Academic All-District selections.
Â
"It is amazing to be part of a team who works so hard in the classroom and the water," said head coach Elizabeth Lykins. "I appreciate the team's effort this Spring term and am proud of their successes. The team's 3.72 is an impressive GPA for any team, but especially one as large as ours, 31 student-athletes!"
Â
The CSCAA honored 763 teams this semester from 432 institutions totaling 18,459 student-athletes across NCAA Divisions I, II and III along with NAIA and NJCAA.
