ATLANTA, Ga. - UNC Asheville Women's Basketball has earned academic special mention from the Women's Basketball Coaches Association, recently announced by the organization.

As the WBCA announces its annual Top 25 Team Honor Roll, teams outside the Top 25 that achieve at least a 3.0 grade point average for the year receive special mention.

UNC Asheville posted a 3.358 grade point average this year, earning academic honors for the first time since the 2021-22 season and for the fourth time in program history.
"Success on the court starts with dedication in the classroom," said head coach Tynesha Lewis. "Our student-athletes continue to raise the bar, and that wouldn't be possible without the unwavering support of our academic team. A heartfelt thank you to Rebecca Nelms and her staff for leading the way."
