Clay Edmondson Named Big South Conference Starting Pitcher of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - UNC Asheville redshirt junior Clay Edmondson has been named the Big South Conference Starting Pitcher of the Week, announced by the league today (Monday, Apr. 21).

Asheville took two of three from conference front-runner High Point over the weekend (Apr. 17-19).

Edmondson moved his record to 5-1 with seven innings in his start for his seventh quality start of the season. He scattered five hits allowing one unearned run with one walk and eight strikeouts. Asheville won the game he started on Friday 4-2.

This is Edmondson's third career Starting Pitcher of the Week honor. The Greensboro, N.C. native is a health and wellness promotion major.

The Bulldogs return home to Greenwood Field on Wednesday (Apr. 23) to host Western Carolina to wrap up the season series. First pitch is set for 5:00 p.m. from Asheville with video and live stats available at www.uncabulldogs.com.
