BIG SOUTH RELEASE

CHARLOTTE, N.C.  – The Big South Conference announced today (April 17) its Men's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week for competitions this past weekend of April 10-13, and UNC Asheville's Shemarr Session and Paul Kiprotich earned outdoor weekly honors for the first time in their careers.

Session (Marietta, Ga.) was voted Men's Track Athlete of the Week, while Kiprotich (Keringet, Nakuru, Kenya) was selected the Men's Freshman of the Week.

Session won the 200m at the Asheville Bulldog Invitational with a school-record time of 20.66 seconds -- the 10th-fastest 200m time in league history and good for 18th in the country this season.  Session also placed second in the 100m Hurdles with a time of 14.52, and was part of the Bulldogs' 4x100m Relay team that finished first in a school-record time of 40.01 seconds.

The UNC Asheville Bulldogs will next compete in their final regular-season meet on April 25-26, splitting the roster between the Charlotte Invitational and the Catamount Classic, depending on the events.
