Baseball Night 2026: Information and Keynote Speaker

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - Join us Jan. 16, 2026 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Highland Brewing for Baseball Night sponsored by Hayes Food Products. This is an annual keynote event benefiting the UNC Asheville Baseball team with expenses affiliated with the upcoming season.

Baseball Night celebrates the Bulldogs on the diamond and our community with fundraising to support our student-athletes as they take on the 2025-26 season. This event consists of a dinner catered by Twisted Laurel, a silent auction and a keynote speaker. All proceeds from this event directly impact the upcoming baseball season with costs affiliated with travel, meals, and more.Â

This year's keynote speaker is Colin Moran, who was a 2011 All-American third baseman at the University of North Carolina. In 2013, Moran was named the ACC Player of the Year and finalist for the Golden Spikes Award. Out of UNC he was the sixth overall pick of the 2013 MLB Draft, ultimately playing in the big leagues for six seasons with the Houston Astros, Pittsburgh Pirates and Cincinnati Reds.

"We're excited to welcome Colin Moran as our guest speaker for Baseball Night in Asheville," said interim head coach Alex Raburn. "I had the privilege of being teammates with Colin at North Carolina in 2013, and he was an unbelievable player and an even better teammate, someone I always looked up to. Our players and everyone in attendance will enjoy hearing his story."

"When I was a student-athlete at UNC Asheville, Baseball Night was always a very special night," said Corbin Lanowitz '25. "It was an opportunity to share our program with friends, family and the community. As an alum, I look forward to Baseball Night as we all gather around what we love, UNC Asheville Baseball. The fact that all of the money goes towards the team makes it that much better. Every dollar helps the players with equipment, meals, hospitality, and travel they need to make us proud in the spring. Our guys wouldn't be able to do what they do without your support! Thank you!"
