Bulldogs Conclude Weekend at Virginia Tech Invitational

BLACKSBURG, Va. - After a productive first day at the Virginia Tech Invitational, the Bulldogs were back in action for the second and final day of competition.Â
TRACK
Freshman Logan Russo scored the highest finish for the Bulldogs in the men's 800m, putting down his first mark of the season to place ninth in 1:56.01. Jaheem O'Hara followed in 11th at 1:56.88, and Jacoby Ennis placed 12th at 1:59.39.Â
On the women's side, Nikole Baikova led the Bulldogs at 2:21.34 (16th) in her first collegiate 800m. Baikova was joined by a trio of Bulldogs: Zoe Bos (18th, 2:23.75), Ella Warren (19th, 2:24.49), and Lily Kelpin (20th, 2:25.81).
In the women's 200m, Alexis Vaughan represented Asheville with a time of 26.50 to place 26th.Â
RELAYS
Asheville competed in the 4x400 relays for the first time this season with two men's squads and one women's team.Â
In a closely contended heat, the men's A team placed eighth overall in 3:18.26, and the B team placed 12th in 3:26.73.Â
The women's team also placed 12th in a time of 4:01.67.Â
Men's A team: Jalen Anderson, Shemarr Session, Joseph Oliver, Christopher Owens
Men's B team: Adam Graham, Ethan Acosta, Jacoby Ennis, Jaheem O'Hara
Women's A team: Nikole Baikova, Francesca Cergol, Lily Kelpin, Murielle Jeanite
FIELD
Four Bulldogs took on the shot put, with Neely Rogan throwing a personal best of 10.91m (18th) and Jaelyn Arnold throwing 9.62m (20th). On the men's side, Chad Lasher placed 14th (12.21m), and Noah Henthorn placed 16th (11.42m, PR).Â
In the women's triple jump, Chaniya Owens jumped to a personal best of 11.36m (12th).

The Bulldogs will return to South Carolina on Feb. 1 for the Carolina Challenge hosted by South Carolina.Â
