Defending Big South Conference Champion Men's Tennis Picked Third in Preaseason Coaches' Poll

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Defending Big South Conference Champion UNC Asheville Men's Tennis has been picked third in the 2025 Preseason Coaches' Poll, announced by the league today (Thursday, Jan. 16).
 
2024 league runner-up Gardner-Webb was picked first with five first-place votes and 25 points, while, Presbyterian was picked second with 16 points followed by Asheville with 15 points. Longwood was picked fourth with 13 points, while Radford rounded out the poll with six points.
 
Asheville returns three players from last year's conference championship team in Tarek Erlewein, 2024 All-Conference singles selection Freddy Murray and 2024 Second Team All-Conference doubles selection Cian Ingles.
 
"The conference season is what it is all about!" said Frost. "We have plenty of competitive matches before that part of our season and we need to be a complete team ready for our Big South competition!"
 
The Bulldogs open the 2025 season next Friday (Jan. 24) against Lenoir-Rhyne and King (Tenn.). The match with Lenoir-Rhyne is slated for a 1:00 p.m. start at the Asheville Racquet Club Downtown.
