Women's Basketball Announces 2024-25 Recruiting Class

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - UNC Asheville Women's Basketball has announced its 2024-25 recruiting class today (Friday, June 14) for the program's first season under head coach Tynesha Lewis.

Alana Swift | Guard | 5th Year | Philadelphia, Pa. | Imhotep Charter HS | Panola CC | Florida International | Norfolk State | Graceland University

Swift played in 27 games last season at NAIA Graceland University, where she was a Second Team All-Conference selection averaging 15.9 points per game. She also has spent time at Norfolk State, Florida International and Panola Community College. She played in 19 games during her first season as a Panther, averaging 2.9 points per game, 1.3 rebounds per game and 0.8 assists per game. At Panola, Swift played in 21 games for the Ponies making 11 starts. She averaged 11.2 points, 4.2 rebounds, 4.6 assists, and 1. 5 steals per game. Swift earned her bachelor's degree in interdisciplinary studies from Graceland in 2023.

Laney Bone | Forward | Junior | Chattanooga, Tenn. | Silverdale Baptist Academy | Buffalo | Cleveland State CC | Longwood

Bone comes to Asheville from Big South Conference rival Longwood, where she appeared in 28 games last season for the Lancers. She averaged 17.6 minutes per game, 4.2 points per game, 3.2 rebounds, 0.3 assists per game and 0.8 steals per game. Prior to her time at Longwood, she was a JUCO All-American at Cleveland State CC as well as a TCCAA Conference Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year. Bone will study psychology at Asheville.

Jordan Tuff | Guard | 5th Year | Kernersville, N.C. | Connections Academy | Cincinnati | Miami (Ohio)

Tuff comes to Asheville from Miami (Ohio) where she appeared in 18 games a season ago for the Redhawks averaging 1.1 points and 1.2 rebounds per game. She scored a season-high nine points and added four rebounds in a win over Akron, and also had five points against Ball State. Tuff earned a bachelor's degree in business entrepreneurship and a master's degree in entrepreneurship and emerging technologies, both from Miami (Ohio).

Skylar Bailey | Guard | Senior | Vienna, Ga. | Houston County HS | Tallahassee CC

Bailey comes to Asheville from Tallahassee CC, where she played in 51 games in her career averaging 10 points per game. She received academic honors from both the Panhandle Conference and the Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA) and was also named to the NJCAA All-Academic Team. Bailey will major in health sciences with a minor in accounting.

Trinity Barnes | Guard | Junior | Gary, Ind. | Westside Leadership Academy | Triton College

Barnes joins the Bulldogs from Triton College, where she played in 59 games averaging 19 points per game for her career. She finished last season fourth in all of JUCO in scoring, and was a two-time First Team All-Region selection. She is Triton College's all-time leading scorer with 1,121 points. Barnes will major in psychology.

"We are grateful for the recruiting class that will add to the pieces we already have," said Lewis. "The addition of experienced players will strengthen our team and help us achieve our goals."
