Freddy Murray Named Big South Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week

FULL BIG SOUTH CONFERENCE RELEASE
CHARLOTTE, N.C. - UNC Asheville sophomore Freddy Murray has been named the Big South Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week, announced by the league today (Wednesday, Apr. 12).
Asheville fell to Gardner-Webb 4-3 on Friday (Apr. 5) and will be the No. 2 seed in the upcoming Big South Conference Championships.
Against Gardner-Webb, Murray teamed up with Sam Nicholson for a 6-3 win at No. 3 doubles, before winning 7-5, 7-5 at No. 1 singles.
This is Murray's third career Player of the Week honor, and his third this season. He is a native of Belfast, Northern Ireland.
The Bulldogs (13-6, 3-1 Big South Conference) return to action on Sunday (Apr. 14) at Tennessee Tech. First serve is set for 3:00 p.m. from Cookeville, Tenn.
