McKinley Brooks-Sumpter Named to Big South Conference All-Conference Second Team, Millie Brown Named to All-Academic Team

FULL BIG SOUTH CONFERENCE RELEASE
CHARLOTTE, N.C. - UNC Asheville redshirt senior guard McKinley Brooks-Sumpter has been named to the Big South Conference All-Conference Second Team, while sophomore guard Millie Brown was named to the All-Academic Team, announced by the league today (Tuesday, Mar. 5). Brooks-Sumpter becomes the first Bulldog since Nadiria Evans in 2020-21 and 2021-22 to earn All-Conference honors in back-to-back years.
Brooks-Sumpter played in 26 games with 22 starts on the season, as she led the team and finished sixth in the Big South in scoring at 14.1 points per game, fourth in rebounds per game (6.9), tied for fifth in assists per game (2.5) and tied for 13th in minutes per game (30.0). She notched four double-doubles on the season and was the Big South Co-Player of the Week on Jan. 2, 2024.
This is Brooks-Sumpter's third career All-Conference honor. The Columbia, S.C. native is a psychology major.
Brown has posted a 3.93 grade point average in her time at UNC Asheville, as a health and wellness promotion major with a minor in psychology. She has appeared in all 29 games this season averaging 13.1 minutes per game.
This is Brown's first career All-Academic Team selection. She is a native of Nashville, Tenn.
The Bulldogs are back in action for the opening round of the Big South Conference Championships tomorrow (Wednesday, Mar. 6) against Gardner-Webb.
