Mallory Bruce Named Big South Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week

FULL BIG SOUTH CONFERENCE RELEASE
CHARLOTTE, N.C. - UNC Asheville junior guard Mallory Bruce has been named the Big South Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week, announced by the league today (Monday, Feb. 19).
Bruce helped Asheville to a 1-1 record this week, scoring a game-high 25 points in the loss at Presbyterian on Feb. 14 and also scoring 18 points in the 68-63 win over Charleston Southern on Homecoming Saturday (Feb. 17). Bruce has now scored double digits in 11 games this season, including seven of her last eight. In addition to her scoring for the week, Bruce pulled down four rebounds in the game against Presbyterian before recording a team-high eight rebounds, one assist and one steal in the win over Charleston Southern.
This is Bruce's first career Player of the Week honor. The Greenville, S.C. native is an accounting major with a minor in management.
The Bulldogs return to the floor on Wednesday (Feb. 21) to host Longwood in Big South Conference action. Tip-off is set for 6:30 p.m. from Kimmel Arena with video, live stats and audio available at www.uncabulldogs.com.
