Bulldogs Extend Win Streak to Seven with 7-0 Win over North Greenville

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - UNC Asheville Men's Tennis extended its longest winning streak since 2019 to seven with a 7-0 shutout over North Greenville on Saturday (Feb. 17) at the Asheville Racquet Club Downtown.
Asheville swept all three doubles matches for the doubles point, before going on to sweep singles play for the shutout.
Jon Brann Reid and Rafa Serra began the day with a 6-0 victory over Christo Timini and Juan Arbelaez at No. 1, before Freddy Murray and Sam Nicholson beat Gabriel Pegoraro and Joao Silva 6-0 at No. 2. Tarek Erlewein and Cian Ingles wrapped up doubles play with a 6-2 win over Anthony Cassini and Will Hernandez at No. 3. Erlewein was the first to finish in singles play blanking Hernandez 6-0, 6-0 at No. 4, before Murray shut out Timini 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2. Nicholson then blanked Lucas Cardoso 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1, before Reid beat Silva 6-2, 6-1 at No. 3. Ingles beat Arbelaez 6-4, 6-3 at No. 6, before Rafa Serra closed things out with a 1-6, 7-6 (3-0), 10-3 win over Pegoraro at No. 5.
