Men’s Basketball Adds Two Signees in Class of 2025

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – UNC Asheville men's basketball head coach Mike Morrell announced Friday that Myles Mayfield and Brayden Rivers have signed their national letters of intent and will join the Bulldog Basketball Program next season.
"I am extremely excited to announce Myles and Brayden to the UNC Asheville family," said Morrell. "Both come from great high school programs and families."
Brayden Rivers, a 6'6" wing, comes to Asheville from Huntsville, Ala., where he has been a four-year starter for nationally-ranked Huntsville High School that went 32-3 last season. Rivers has earned Tournament MVP at the prestigious Lighthouse Classic and was named to the Huntsville All-Metro Team. He has an 80+ career free throw percentage and a 35+ career 3-point percentage. Academically, Rivers has a 4.4 GPA, a 33 ACT, and a 1450 SAT.
Morrell on Rivers: "Brayden is someone we targeted very early on who fits our style of play and values perfectly."
Myles Mayfield, a 6'8" forward, comes to Asheville from Orlando, Fla., where he has played at Edgewater High School. Mayfield averaged 15 points and nine rebounds a game last season and was a finalist for 6A Player of the Year. Mayfield helped lead Edgewater to the State Championship game, and the team finished 23-8 after falling in the title game. Mayfield was named MVP to the prestigious Winter Park Rotary Tournament with a stat line of 30 points, 15 rebounds, and five blocks. He was a preseason finalist for 6A Player of the Year and played on the Nxt Pro 16 Circuit.
