ATLANTA – The UNC Asheville swimming & diving team will compete in the ASUN Conference during the 2023-24 Academic year, the league announced on Monday.
It marks the first time that the ASUN has sponsored swimming & diving. The Bulldogs will be joined in the conference by Bellarmine, Florida Gulf Coast, Gardner-Webb, Liberty, North Florida, and Queens.
"We are excited to be a founding member of this new conference and are looking forward to an outstanding season," said UNC Asheville Head Coach Elizabeth Lykins.
Asheville is coming off back-to-back undefeated dual meet seasons. Since November 2019, the Bulldogs have posted a record of 25-1-1 while routinely rewriting the program's record book.
The 2023-24 season for the Bulldogs will begin with an Intrasquad & Alumni Meet on September 22 and 23. Asheville will start its regular season on October 6 when it visits Campbell at 4 p.m.
