Two Bulldog Baseball Players Earn All-Big South Honors

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Big South Conference released its annual award winners and All-Conference teams for the 2023 baseball season on Wednesday. Robbie Burnett garnered All-Big South First Team honors, while Bryce Fisher was named to the Conference's All-Academic Team.

Serving mainly as UNC Asheville's center fielder in 2023, Burnett improved greatly from his freshman season in 2022 to 2023. Burnett led Asheville with a .379 batting average to go with 13 home runs and 35 RBI. Burnett, who also stole 11 bases, scored 48 runs and drew 24 walks for a .486 on-base percentage. Burnett's knack of getting on base sparked a 33-game on-base streak in 2023 and collected 21 multi-hit performances as a sophomore. Furthermore, Burnett was named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team for his work in the classroom.

Fisher, who was named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team earlier this month, finished his junior campaign with a 3-4 record and a 5.85 ERA. Fisher pitched 40 innings and struck out 26 hitters. He picked up victories over Queens, USC Upstate and Radford in 2023.
