ASHEVILLE, N.C. - UNC Asheville Women's Basketball has signed transfer Jaila Lee to its 2023-24 recruiting class, announced today (Saturday, Apr. 22) by Head Coach Honey Brown. Â
"Jaila's such an impressive person with her inner strength, work ethic and positivity," said Coach Brown. "She fits very well with our program. Our staff was looking for exactly what Jaila has proven she can do at the collegiate level. A versatile scorer, great rebounding on both ends, length and athleticism. She's a three-level scorer, which will make her tough to guard. We are very excited about her being a Bulldog! I can't wait to work with her!"
Lee comes to Asheville after two seasons at St. Francis Brooklyn, including a redshirt season last year. As a freshman at St. Francis Brooklyn, Lee made 11 starts and was named to the All-Conference Freshman team in the Northeast Conference. She averaged 6.0 points per game and 6.0 rebounds per game, while shooting 43.0 percent from the field and 26.0 percent from three.
The Brentwood, Tenn. Native was an All-State selection as a senior at Brentwood Academy, where she was a teammate of current Asheville Bulldog Millie Brown and also 2023-24 signee Trinity Fields.Â
