Three Bulldogs Collect All-Conference Honors

FULL BIG SOUTH CONFERENCE RELEASE
CHARLOTTE, N.C. -Â Three UNC Asheville Men's Tennis players have collected Big South Conference All-Conference honors, announced by the league today (Thursday, Apr. 20).
Sam Nicholson was named First Team All-Conference singles, while the tandem of Jon Brann Reid and Rafa Serra was tabbed Second Team All-Conference Doubles. In addition, Reid was named to the conference's All-Academic Team.
Nicholson went a team-best 14-3 in singles play as a freshman, with a team-high 14 wins and a 4-1 record in conference. He posted a 4-1 record at No. 1, a 4-2 record at No. 3, an 8-1 record at No. 3 and also went 2-0 at No. 4, ending the season on a seven-match winning streak.
This is Nicholson's first career All-Conference selection.
Reid and Serra posted a team-best eight wins in doubles play at No. 1, including two wins in conference.
This is Serra's first career All-Conference selection. He is a native of Burlington, N.C., and is a biology major with a double minor in Spanish and Neuroscience.
Reid was also named to the All-Academic Team, posting a 4.0 grade point average in biology and health and wellness promotion.
This is Reid's fifth career All-Conference selection, his third career All-Conference selection in doubles play and his first career selection to the All-Academic Team. He is a native of Hickory N.C.
