Last Time Out - The Bulldogs return to action after a strong performance at the Montreat Invitational last weekend. Six Bulldogs took first place at the two-day meet alongside nine top-three finishes and numerous personal best performances. After the first day, the women's athletes held second place in the overall team scores, with the men close behind in third place.

Top Notch Throwing - The Asheville throwers have been on a hot streak, culminating in their performance at Montreat. Each Bulldog thrower made a podium finish over the course of the two-day competition with three first place throws, two second place throws, and three personal bests. Solomon McDonald and Raina Jackson continued to dominate, with McDonald winning the men's discus and Jackson winning the women's shot put. Brianna Moore took first place in the javelin with a personal best throw of 41.88-meters. Madison Hannah and newcomer Jada Brigman both took podium spots in their events, with Hannah taking second in the discus and Brigman taking second place in the shot put in her first track and field competition as a Bulldog.

Podium Hurdles - Continuing his rapid improvement, Zac Weas swept both hurdle events, winning the 110-meter hurdles and 400-meter hurdles with personal bests in each event. After winning the Big South Conference 60-meter hurdles, Weas has improved his personal best times in each meet since. Maya Dulaney also took second place in the women's 400-meter hurdles, making her first podium appearance of the season.

Meet Rewind - Last year, the Bulldogs had a strong performance at the VertKlasse Meeting. Claudia Prieto set a new school record for the women's long jump taking first place, and Jalen Anderson broke two school records in the 200-meter and 100-meter dashes. Nick Roberts also had a great performance last year, finishing second and setting a personal best in the 110-meter hurdles.

About VertKlasse - Asheville will take on stiff competition at this meet, facing off against power conference schools and fellow Big South. Likely schools to attend the competition will be Radford, Winthrop, Charleston Southern, USC Upstate, NC State, Duke, Campbell, and dozens of other Division I and Division II schools.
