Bulldogs wrap up competition at Raleigh Relays

RALEIGH, N.C.
- The UNC Asheville track and field teams wrapped up competition at the Raleigh Relays on Thursday. Four Bulldogs competed on Thursday and among a massive field of competitors, the Bulldogs captured a top-ten finish, a top-25 finish, a top-15 finish, and a new personal best.

Solomon McDonald represented the Bulldogs in the men's shot put, an event he holds the Asheville record in outdoor and indoor competition. For the first time in four meets, McDonald did not finish first in the shot put, finishing eighth out of 46 throwers with a throw of 17.27-meters.

Coming off a record breaking performance at the 49er Classic, Raina Jackson took part in the women's shot put for Asheville. She finished 23rd out of 48 participants with a throw of 13.08-meters.

Alex Haines took on the crowded field of participants in the men's 1500-meter run, finishing with a personal best time of 3:54.67. He placed 142nd out of 213 runners in the event.

To round out the day for the Bulldogs, Adam Hessler competed in the men's 5000-meter run. Hessler finished 14th out of 98 runners with a time of 14:36.47.

These four Bulldogs will be back in action tomorrow, rejoining their teammates to compete at the Montreat Invitational. Events begin at 1:30 on Friday (Mar. 24) and the two day event will be streamed live HERE with live updates HERE.
