ASHEVILLE, N.C. – For the first time since 2020, "Baseball Night in Asheville" returned to a resounding success on Friday night from Highland Brewing. The event, which was sponsored by David E. Looper & Company, Highland Brewing, Twisted Laurel, Vitrelle Hospitality, and others, was held at Highland Brewing and featured guest speaker Hall of Fame ESPN Baseball Analyst Tim Kurkjian.
With the 2023 baseball season just four weeks away, the event had live auctions on great prizes as well as a multitude of silent auctions ranging from tickets to the 2023 Army-Navy football game, a ticket package for four people to see the Atlanta Braves at any home this coming season, and a two-night stay at The Omni Grove Park Inn in Asheville.
"I'm ecstatic that Baseball Night in Asheville is back," said UNC Asheville Head Coach Scott Friedholm. "It was great to see a bunch of alumni back, sponsors, donors, and some new faces as well in our largest turnout to date for this event."
Asheville will open its 2023 season on February 17-19 when it hosts Sacred Heart in a three-game series. Friday's and Sunday's games will be played at Greenwood Field, while Saturday's will be played at Big League Camp in Marion, N.C.
