Women’s Basketball releases its 2022-23 non-conference schedule

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville women's basketball team released its 2022-23 non-conference schedule on Thursday. The non-Big South schedule will consist of 11 games with seven of those to be played at Kimmel Arena. Two other highlights during the non-conference slate for the Bulldogs are contests at Florida and at Virginia Tech.
"I am very excited about our non-conference schedule," UNC Asheville Head Coach Honey Brown said. "As a coach you try to get games that will be challenging to your team like the Virginia Tech and Florida games because your players love to play those. This schedule also has a blend of games that are similar to our conference opponents to get us ready for the Big South."
Asheville will open the 2022-23 season on November 7 when it hosts Converse at Kimmel Arena. The Bulldogs will play back-to-back road games at Florida (November 13) and at Division I newcomer Queens (N.C.) on November 18.
The next four non-Big South games for Asheville will all be at home beginning with a tilt vs. Chattanooga on November 23. Following that contest, the Bulldogs will host Western Carolina on November 28, Warren Wilson on November 30, Furman on December 7. The matchup vs. Warren Wilson will be the team's annual Education Day.
The Bulldogs will make the trip to Virginia Tech on December 11 before coming back to Asheville for a pair of non-league games vs. East Tennessee State (December 17) and Wofford (December 19). Asheville will wrap up the non-league schedule on December 21 with a trip to Austin Peay.
