Bulldogs wrap up the Georgia Tech Invitational on Saturday

ATLANTA, Ga. – The UNC Asheville track & field teams closed out the Georgia Tech Invitational on Saturday afternoon. Like they have throughout the last few meets, the Bulldogs saw an outdoor school record fall to go along with several personal and season-best performances both on the track and in the field events.
Sophomore Jalen Anderson was the Bulldog that broke an outdoor school record on Saturday. Anderson's time of 20.97 in the 200-meter dash edges the old record of 21.07 that he set earlier this month at the VertKlasse Meeting.
Asheville's two other top-eight finishes on the day came in the men's discus. Jack Choiniere placed the fifth with a toss of 47.86-meters, while fellow Bulldog Solomon McDonald was not too far behind with a mark of 45.93-meters.
The top outing from the women's team came in the 4x100-meter relay. The foursome of Claudia Prieto, Kindra Mingo, Raven Thurman, and Khadeesha Crumbly teamed up to log a season-best time of 47.72. This time was just .15 seconds off, matching the school record for the event (47.57).
Next up for the Bulldogs is the Big South Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The Championships will take place May 9-11 on the campus of High Point.
