“Our Turn To Play” announces Meridith Elliott Powell as Emcee

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - UNC Asheville Athletics is thrilled to welcome best-selling author, certified speaking professional, award-winning business expert, and Asheville local, Meridith Elliott Powell, as the emcee for the annual "Our Turn To Play" event.
For years, Meridith has traveled around the world as a professional speaker, leadership expert, and sales strategist. She has made it her life's work and passion to help individuals in the business world overcome obstacles, struggles, and adversity to come out stronger on the other side. Her most recent project, "THRIVE: Strategies to Turn Uncertainty To Competitive Advantage", details a nine-step roadmap on how to grow business and drive sales in a highly competitive and constantly shifting economic environment. Despite being created with the business world in mind, her work can be applied throughout all facets of life.
As the Emcee, Meredith will set the stage for the event, help honor our female student-athletes and coaches, celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Title IX, and facilitate a Q and A with keynote speaker, Mike Whan.
To have such an incredibly powerful and successful woman reside locally is a treat in itself, but to have her come, share her experiences, facilitate the event and recognize our female student-athletes will be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
