ASHEVILLE N.C. – Helping lead UNC Asheville Swim and Dive to its highest finish ever at the Coastal Collegiate Sports Association (CCSA) Championships, Caitlin Hefner has been named the February "Bulldog of the Month" presented by Zaxby's.
Competing in the CCSA Championships from February 16-19, Hefner and the Bulldogs continued to add accolades to the top season in program history, as the freshman from Mt. Holly, North Carolina, became Asheville's first-ever gold medalist after winning the 1650 free with a time of 16:47.40.
Hefner's production didn't end there, finishing second in the 500 free with a time of 4:57.49 as UNC Asheville finished third in the Championships overall.
This marks the second consecutive "Bulldog of the Month" award won by a member of the Swim and Dive program, as Delaney Carlton claimed the honor in January. To view the full list of nominees, click here.
