Leo Bierbaum named Big South Men’s Tennis Player of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Going 2-0 in both doubles and singles action as the UNC Asheville men's tennis team improved to 4-0 on the young season, the Big South announced Wednesday that Leo Bierbaum was named the league's Men's Tennis Player of the Week.
Bierbaum picked up two more wins to keep his perfect 4-0 singles record intact this season, including a 6-3, 6-3 victory at the No. 2 flight to help lift Asheville to a 4-3 win at UNCG Sunday.
On Saturday, Leo and teammate Jon Bran Reid cruised to a 6-2 win at No. 1 doubles, before Bierbaum won his No. 2 singles match 6-2, 6-3.
In addition to Sunday's singles victory, Bierbaum and Reid picked up a 7-5 win that helped Asheville earn a team point at doubles.
Bierbaum and the Bulldogs return to the court Saturday when they host North Florida at 3:30 p.m.
