CHARLOTTE, N.C. - UNC Asheville women's basketball redshirt junior guard McKinley Brooks-Sumpter has been named the Big South Conference Player of the Week, announced by the league today (Monday, Dec. 12).
Brooks-Sumpter led the Bulldogs in scoring in both games last week, posting lines of 15 points, four rebounds, one assist and two steals against Furman (Dec. 7) and 11 points, seven rebounds and one block against No. 7 Virginia Tech (Dec. 11).
This is Brooks-Sumpter's first career Player of the Week honor.
The Bulldogs (4-4) return to Kimmel Arena on Saturday (Dec. 17) to face East Tennessee State in non-conference action. Tip-off is set for 2:00 p.m. from Kimmel Arena.
