Ona Elkins Earns Academic All-District Honors from College Sports Communicators

GREENWOOD, Ind. – Ona Elkins of the UNC Asheville volleyball team was named to the Academic All-District Team by College Sports Communicators, formerly CoSIDA, on Tuesday afternoon.
Elkins, who garnered Big South All-Academic Team honors earlier this month, appeared in all 26 matches for Asheville in 2022. She ranked second on the team with 301 assists, third in digs with 140, and fourth in aces with 12.Â
To qualify for this accolade, student-athletes must have been at their institution for at least one calendar year, played in at least 50 percent of their team's contests and maintain a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.50.
Elkins currently has a grade-point average of 4.0 while majoring in political science at UNC Asheville.
