ASHEVILLE, N.C. — This past weekend, UNC Asheville Athletics hosted several home sporting events, welcoming several Bulldog alumni back to Asheville and to campus.

Over 30 Baseball Alumni returned to Asheville for their annual golf outing at Broadmoor Golf Course on Friday, September 24. Volleyball was at home for two matches and was supported by some alumni who were able to make the trip back to Asheville while Swim and Dive hosted their annual Blue-White Intrasquad and Alumni meet.

"Having former alumni back this weekend to cheer on and support our bulldogs was fantastic," volleyball Assistant Coach and Asheville alum Jen Peterson said. "We had an incredible crowd Friday night, and the players could feel their support. Visiting with the alumni after the game and having the opportunity to catch up with former teammates, players and fellow Bulldogs was very special. Once a Bulldog always a Bulldog!"

Women's Tennis hosted the first Annual Emily McNall Tennis Classic on Saturday and Sunday. Several former teammates of Emily's returned to pay tribute to their teammate and friend and to cheer on UNC Asheville. A special thanks to Mary Ann Myers and Annie Lundahl for hosting their annual tennis tailgate for the Bulldog friends and the tennis community and our friend George Pfeiffer at Village Porch for hosting a gathering of alumni to cap off the weekend Saturday night.

"In my 20th year at UNC Asheville, it continues to feed my soul and bring me joy to see our former Bulldogs come back to cheer on their teams, engage and interact with one another," said Special Assistant to the Director of Athletics Betsy Blose. "Those relationships are what it is all about!"
