2021-22 UNC Asheville Women's Basketball Schedule
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Big South Conference released its 2021-22 women's basketball composite league schedule earlier this afternoon. Asheville is scheduled to play 18 games against league foes this season with nine of those set to be played at Kimmel Arena.
Unlike in 2020-21, the Bulldogs and the rest of the conference will be playing more of a traditional schedule in 2021-22. Asheville will open its conference slate by hosting Radford on December 29. Following that matchup, the Bulldogs will welcome Hampton (Jan. 8), High Point (Jan. 18), Presbyterian (Jan. 22), North Carolina A&T (Jan. 25), Gardner-Webb (Feb. 5), Longwood (Feb. 8), USC Upstate (Feb. 19), and Charleston Southern (Feb. 26) to Asheville. Mixed in with the games at Kimmel Arena, the Bulldogs will make trips to USC Upstate (Jan. 1), Longwood (Jan. 5), Gardner-Webb (Jan. 11), Charleston Southern (Jan. 15), Winthrop (Jan. 29), Campbell (Feb. 2), Hampton (Feb. 12), Radford (Feb. 15), and High Point (Feb. 23).
The 2022 Hercules Tires Big South Women's Basketball Championship will be played in Charlotte at historic Bojangles' Coliseum for the first time in early March. The facility marks the league's first neutral site for its marquee basketball event since 2003 and just the fifth time overall in the conference's 38-year history.
First round games are slated to be contested on Tuesday, March 1, with the quarterfinals (March 3), semifinals (March 5), and championship games (March 6) to follow. The winner will receive an automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament.
All conference home games will begin at 6:30 p.m. (weekdays) and 2 p.m. (weekends). A reminder that basketball season tickets are on sale now. If you can't make it to a game, all home and road conference matchups can be seen on ESPN+.
