Bulldog Athletics Fund Scholarship Golf Classic Concludes Tuesday

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – UNC Asheville Athletics supporters closed out the annual Bulldog Athletics Fund (BAF) Scholarship Golf Classic at the Country Club of Asheville on Tuesday, raising around $100,000 for student-athlete scholarships during the two-day event.

"I am extremely grateful for all of our donors and sponsors who participated in the Bulldog Athletics Fund Scholarship Golf Classic this week," stated Director of Athletics Janet R. Cone. "The support generated helps to grow our athletic scholarship fund and provides our Bulldogs with a great student-athlete experience. I also want to thank the Country Club of Asheville as well as our golf committee who helped put on this event. Everyone involved showed that they are All in for Asheville!"

In flight one, the group of Oldcastle APG Adams claimed first place, shooting a net par of 23-under. The Inform Systems foursome claimed second place with the Sederburg Team grabbing third place in flight one. In flight two, Dominion Energy took home first place, with the Brown Team placing second and Republic Services finishing in third place.

John Pierce, Billy Roland, Ed Nieradka and Randy McKinney all won closest to the pin prizes, and Johnny Davis won the straightest drive competition.

The Bulldog Athletics Fund would like to thank: Harrah's Cherokee Casino Resort, the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, Pepsi, Canteen, Highland Brewing, Budweiser and BMW for sponsoring the event, as well as the Country Club of Asheville for partnering as the tournament host.
