Baseball’s Edwards appears in NECBL All-Star game

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – UNC Asheville pitcher Jacob Edwards appeared in the New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL) All-Star game at Cardines Field in Newport, Rhode Island, on Sunday night.

A rising senior, Edwards pitched a strong 1.0 inning for the North team, striking out a batter in the process. The left-hander has been a member of the Sanford Mainers this season, making five appearances and sporting a 1.98 ERA thus far. The Jacksonville, Florida, native has fanned 20 batters in the process, totaling 22.2 innings.

Edwards played a significant role for the Bulldogs this past season, tossing 67.0 innings while registering a career-high 59 strikeouts.
