Volleyball Adds Elle Thigpen to 2021 Recruiting Class

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – UNC Asheville Head Volleyball Coach Frederico Santos announced Wednesday the signing of Elle Thigpen (Greensboro, N.C.) to the program's 2021 recruiting class. Thigpen joins fellow signees Nina Finderle and Carley Modlin as the newest Bulldogs that will join the program this fall.

Thigpen comes to Asheville after being named the 2021 Metro 4-A Conference Defensive Player of the Year and earning a spot on the All-Conference team.
She helped her team advance to the NCHSAA 4-A State Final Four in 2021. Overall, the Vikings finished with a 16-2 record and won both the regular season and tournament championships in the 4-A Metro Conference.
As a senior, Thigpen finished with 168 digs in 60 sets (2.8 D/S).
Thigpen was named to the AVCA Phenom Watch List before the start of her senior season.

"We are proud to announce the signing of Elle Thigpen," said Santos. "We are excited for Elle to join our team after being an important player on her successful high school team. She is quick, has great energy, and will compete for playing time on our backline."
