KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced today the 2020-21 NABC Division I All-District teams and coaches, as selected by NABC-member head coaches in NCAA Division I, with UNC Asheville's Tajion Jones being named to the District 3 Second Team.
"Tajion is extremely deserving of this after the year he had," said Asheville head coach Mike Morrell. "His progress over the last few years speaks to the type of player and person he is. We are very grateful to have him in our program and very proud of his progress!"
Jones was the go-to scorer in many contests for Asheville this season, averaging a team-high 16.0 points per game which ranked fifth in the Big South. The Oak Ridge, Tennessee, native averaged 3.40 three-pointers per game, setting a new program record for that category and finishing sixth overall among Division I players. The redshirt junior was extremely efficient from the floor this season, ranking third in the Big South in field goal percentage (.475) and second in 3-point field goal percentage (.429) at the end of the regular season. Scoring in double figures in all but three games, Jones led the Bulldogs in scoring 11 times, knocking down five or more 3-pointers six times.
This is the first NABC honor for Jones, who earned All-Big South Second Team honors in February. To view the full release and teams, click here.
