Tennis to host Emmanuel College on Saturday

Women begin at 1:00 p.m., Men’s action to follow
ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville men's and women's tennis teams will both be in action on Saturday, welcoming Emmanuel College to the Asheville Racquet Club.
The women will compete at 1:00 p.m., with the men's squads to follow.
The Asheville women's tennis team opened up its spring season last Thursday with a 7-0 victory over Mars Hill. The Bulldogs then traveled to Chattanooga on Saturday, falling 6-1. Against Mars Hill, Ami Grace Dougah and Rosie Dickson won 6-2 at the No. 1 doubles, while Lize Alet Morkel and Taylor Love, Brianna Tatanto and Beatrice Faureng won 6-0 at their respective doubles spots, with all six of them taking care of business in the singles. Alet Morkel kept her strong start going, winning 6-3, 6-3 at the No. 1 singles spot at Chattanooga.
The men's program will officially open up their season on Saturday at the conclusion of the women's matches. The team hosted Gardner-Webb and Presbyterian last weekend in a scrimmage. Jon Brann Reid, Oli Nolan and Leo Bierbaum all registered wins against Gardner-Webb, while Charlie Morkel, Quinn Fender and Harry Thursfield picked up wins over Presbyterian.
