Men’s Tennis completes day one of Spartan Invitational

GREENSBORO, N.C. - The UNC Asheville men's tennis team opened up play at the Spartan Invitational Saturday.
In early singles action, Jon Brann Reid downed his opponent 6-2, 6-3, with Leo Bierbaum having a similar result, topping Davidson's Brooks Green 6-4, 6-2. Sirawit Daosaengsawang was able to outlast Nico Pinzon, winning 4-6, 6-4 and 1-0 (7).
Against the host UNC Greensboro, the Bulldogs took seven of eight singles matches. Brann Reid improved to 2-0 on the day, but had to battle and win the third set tie break. Harry Thursfield downed his opponent 6-2, 6-4, with Bierbaum registering a clean sweep 6-0, 6-0. Daosaengsawang was victorious in three sets again, as Bruno Serra and Quinn Fender earned two-set wins.
The Bulldogs open up action tomorrow morning starting at 10:00 a.m.
