Cross Country to finish regular season Saturday at USC Upstate Invitational

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – UNC Asheville Cross Country will head to Spartanburg, S.C. on Saturday, October 16th, to compete in the USC Upstate Invitational. The women will start first at 9:00 a.m., followed by the men who begin at 9:45 a.m.
There will be 21 teams competing in the Invitational, including College of Charleston, Furman, Gardner-Webb, Mercer, Western Carolina, Winthrop, and Wofford.
Last Time Out
The Bulldogs have not competed in the USC Upstate Invitational since the 2014 season, but are coming off strong finishes at the Live in Lou Classic. John Ciprich and Adam Hessler finished with the 2nd and 3rd best 8k times in program history, clocking in at 24:50.6 and 24:51.9. For the women, India Appleton continued her consistency, with another time that broke into the program's top-25 all-time 5k performances, with an 18:40.7 pace. Alyx Evans was not far behind, breaking her personal-best 5k time with a 19:01.1 finish.
With the regular season ending on Saturday, the Bulldogs will have the Big South Conference Meet on October 29th, followed by NCAA Regionals which start November 12th.
