2021 Baseball Schedule
ASHEVILLE, N.C. – UNC Asheville Head Baseball Coach Scott Friedholm announced his team's 2021 schedule on Wednesday morning. The Bulldogs are scheduled to play 45 games this spring with the first being set for February 23 at Western Carolina.
A large part of Asheville's schedule will consist of games against Big South foes. This year, Big South teams will play 40 league games while allowing for each team to schedule up to 10 non-conference games as can be accommodated. The schedule features 12 weekend 3-game series, plus four mid-week games in league play for all 10 playing members. In 2021, the top four teams in the final conference standings will advance to the Big South Baseball Championship, which will be held May 27-29 at SEGRA Stadium in Fayetteville, N.C. The champion receives the Big South's automatic bid to the NCAA Championship. Fans can catch Bulldog baseball in conference play all spring long on ESPN+.
Currently, the Bulldogs are set to play against three non-conference opponents in Western Carolina (once), East Tennessee State (three times), and Wofford (once). All those contests are slated to be played on the road.
Asheville will open its home schedule on March 19-20 when it hosts Campbell for three games at Greenwood Field. The Bulldogs will also welcome conference rivals Gardner-Webb, Radford, Presbyterian, Charleston Southern, Longwood and USC Upstate to Asheville this season.
