UNC Asheville Announces Bulldog Blue & White Showdown Presented by TD Bank

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville Athletic Department announced Monday that it will be hosting a series of intrasquad scrimmages as part of the Bulldog Blue & White Showdown Presented by TD Bank. The Showdown will take place during the week of October 3-10 and will feature each of the Bulldog fall programs. Each program will be split into a Blue and White team and they will compete against each other with the winner earning a point for their respective team.
"With fall sports not being played in a traditional sense this year, we wanted to put on an event for our fall student-athletes to give them an opportunity to compete in a friendly format against each other," said UNC Asheville Director of Athletics Janet R. Cone. "We are looking forward to a fun week of competition and we hope Bulldog fans will enjoy it as well."
The schedule of events for the Blue & White Showdown is below. Saturday's swimming scrimmage, Thursday's volleyball match along with the two soccer matches will be broadcast on ESPN+. David Jandrew and Harmon Turner will provide commentary for swimming, while Matt Stradley and various Bulldog Head Coaches will call the action for volleyball and the two soccer matches. A make-up day of Sunday, October 11 will be used if necessary.

No spectators will be able to attend any of the scrimmages. Preview stories, recaps, and a running Blue/White scoreboard will be posted at the end of each day on uncabulldogs.com and our social media platforms.
