D1 Baseball Lists Lankford among top third basemen in the country

ASHEVILLE – UNC Asheville's Brandon Lankford has been listed among the top third basemen in the nation, according to D1 Baseball. Lankford, who placed 23rd on the list, was the lone Big South player represented.
Lankford hit .283 with two home runs and nine RBI during the abbreviated 2020 season. The Mocksville, N.C. native also scored seven runs, notched four doubles and stole two bases in three attempts in 14 games played.
In a larger sample size of 52 games played in 2019, Lankford hit .287 with a team-high 15 home runs and 35 RBI. His 15 home runs were the second-most by a Bulldog in a single season in the history of the program. For his play on the field, Lankford earned All-Big South First Team honors becoming the first UNC Asheville player to earn this distinction since 2015.
