Weymier Added as General Manager of UNC Asheville Sports Properties

ASHEVILLE – UNC Asheville director of athletics Janet R. Cone has announced the hiring of Jared Weymier as the general manager of UNC Asheville Sports Properties with Learfield IMG College.
"We are excited to welcome Jared to the Bulldog family and know he will be a great addition to the team," Cone said. "He has spent time in our area with the Hickory Crawdads and with IMG College at Appalachian State, and he brings a wealth of knowledge from other stops along the way.
"Jared has already hit the ground running developing relationships with our tremendous group of corporate partners."
Weymier comes to UNC Asheville after spending the previous two years as the manager of partnership marketing and sponsorship sales with the Denver Outlaws of Major League Lacrosse. In his role, Weymier created marketing campaigns with the corporate partners of the Outlaws. He also conceptualized, sold, activated and fulfilled all of the Outlaws' corporate partnership contracts.
Prior to his time in Denver, Weymier spent three seasons as an account executive for IMG College at Appalachian State. There, he helped create and sell marketing strategies to local, regional and national businesses, while also working on fulfillment of corporate partner activation.

A native of Wisconsin, Weymier moved to his home state to take over as the youth sports director at the Waukesha YMCA from 2013-15. Prior to that, he spent three seasons as the director of promotions for the Hickory Crawdads, where he created marketing strategies to drive attendance at games.
Weymier graduated from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse in 2010 with a double major in Sports Management and Fitness and a minor in Business Administration. He interned with the Milwaukee Brewers during his final semester.
