UNC Asheville Baseball to Participate in Read Across America at Local Elementary Schools

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – Members of the UNC Asheville baseball team will participate in a celebration of the National Read Across America Day, Monday, March 2, as they are scheduled to read to local elementary students.
Members of the Bulldog baseball team are scheduled to read to students at three local elementary schools Monday afternoon.
The Bulldogs will be at Woodfin Elementary, Ira B. Jones Elementary and Claxton Elementary.
Launched in 1998 by the National Education Association (NEA), Read Across America is the nation's largest celebration of reading. This year-round program focuses on motivating children and teens to read through events, partnerships, and reading resources that are about everyone, for everyone. Read Across America Day, also known as Dr. Seuss Day, is held on the school day that is nearest to March 2nd, Dr. Seuss' birthday.
