UNC Asheville acknowledges Scholarship Endowments on Giving Tuesday

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – On the University's annual day of giving, also known as "Giving Tuesday," the UNC Asheville Athletics Department acknowledged its Endowment Scholarship recipients for 2020-21.
Twenty-one student-athletes were the beneficiaries of the scholarship endowment program that will enable them to represent UNC Asheville in their respective fields of competition during the academic year.
"Our endowed athletics scholarship program is critical for the recruitment of scholar-athletes and our long-term financial sustainability," stated Janet R. Cone, Director of Athletics. "We are so grateful to the individuals and families who choose to make an investment that keeps giving year after year. The student-athletes who receive these scholarships are Champions and Leaders in competition, in the classroom, and in the community. Thanks again to our generous donors."
"I am extremely grateful to receive the Charlie "Choo Choo" and Sarah Justice Student-Athlete Scholarship Endowment because it allows me the opportunity to get a college education while playing the sport I love," said women's basketball player Amaryah Corpening.Â
