Women’s Basketball Unveils Non-Conference Schedule
11.03.2020 | Women's Basketball
ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville women's basketball team unveiled its non-conference schedule on Tuesday. Overall, the Bulldogs will take on five non-Big South teams in the early going to prepare for conference play. Asheville is scheduled to open the season with non-conference rival Western Carolina on November 25.
In addition to its matchup with the Catamounts, Asheville will host two other non-conference foes. First, it will face off Wofford on December 6 before welcoming SEC power Florida to the High Country on December 9. Mixed in with these games will be trips to Appalachian State on November 29 and South Carolina State on December 12.
"We're very excited to have the opportunity to play this season," said UNC Asheville Head Women's Basketball Coach Honey Brown. "Our mountain rivalry with Western Carolina will kick things off, which is always a fan favorite. Next, we play Appalachian State and Wofford, which are great regional games that will help us get ready for our conference opponents. It's always great to measure up against bigger schools. We'll be ready to step up our game when Florida from the SEC comes to Kimmel Arena. All five of our non-conference games will be challenging but I know our players and staff will be ready to go."

A reminder that fans will initially not be permitted at home basketball games through December 31, 2020. A decision about permitting fans beginning in 2021 will be announced at a later date as state and local guidelines regarding COVID-19 are released.
