Baseball Unveils 2020 Schedule

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – UNC Asheville head baseball coach Scott Friedholm has officially announced the 2020 UNC Asheville baseball schedule which will feature 21 home games at Greenwood Field.
The Bulldogs will open by playing three straight weekend series and 12 total games on the road and officially begin their season with a trip to Birmingham, Ala. for three games versus Southern Conference opponent Samford, Feb 14-16.
UNC Asheville will return to Birmingham the following weekend for three games but this time it'll be to take on UAB, Feb. 21-23. The Bulldogs will then take a trip to Nashville, Tenn. for a three-game series versus Belmont, Feb. 28-March 1.
The first chance for fans to catch the Bulldogs at home and to see the newly renovated dugouts at Greenwood Field will be, Saturday, March 7, when UNC Asheville takes on Coppin State in an afternoon doubleheader. The third game of the series will take place, Sunday, March 8.
The Bulldogs will once again be making the trip to Knoxville for a midweek game with the Volunteers. UNC Asheville is scheduled to take on Tennessee, Wednesday, February 26.
UNC Asheville is scheduled to see some familiar midweek opponents at Greenwood Field as the Bulldogs are scheduled to see Wofford (H: April 21 A: Feb. 19), ETSU (H: April 14 A: March 25), Appalachian State (H: April 7 A: April 28), Western Carolina (H: May 1 A: May 2) and Georgia State (H: May 12 A: March 11) all twice, once at Greenwood Field and once on the road, during the 2020 season.
UNC Asheville will also host the University of Massachusetts at Greenwood Field for one game, Wednesday, March 18.
The Bulldogs will travel to Greenville, S.C. for one with Furman (March 4) and to Charlotte, N.C. for one game with Charlotte (April 1).
This season, UNC Asheville's rivalry matchup with Western Carolina will take place as a two-game Friday-Saturday series with the first game taking place, Friday, May 1, at Greenwood Field before both teams travel to Cullowhee, N.C. for game two of the series, Saturday, May 2.
Big South Conference play will begin for the Bulldogs, March 13-15, as UNC Asheville will host Gardner-Webb in a Friday-Sunday series at Greenwood Field. The other Big South opponents that the Bulldogs will see at Greenwood Field include Campbell (March 27-29), High Point (April 17-19) and Presbyterian (May 8-10).
The first road game for the Bulldogs versus a Big South opponent will be March 20-22 when the Bulldogs travel to Spartanburg, S.C. for three games against USC Upstate. The Bulldogs will also play three-game road series versus conference opponents Winthrop (April 3-5), Longwood (April 9-11), Radford (April 24-26) and Charleston Southern (May 14-16).
UNC Asheville's last regular season series will take place May 14-16 in Charleston, S.C. when the Bulldogs battle with Charleston Southern.
The Big South Baseball Championships will take place May 19-23 at SEGRA Stadium in Fayetteville, N.C.
