‘Baseball Night in Asheville’ to be Held January 24th

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The seventh annual "Baseball Night in Asheville" will be held Friday, January 24, 2020, and tickets are officially on sale.

Each ticket costs $65 (fees included), and every ticket includes access to the event, food, wine and beer. The event will start at 6 p.m. and will conclude at 9 p.m.
"Baseball Night in Asheville" will once again be held at Highland Brewing, and the address to the brewery is 12 Old Charlotte Hwy, Asheville, N.C.
"The exciting thing for me is to see how much this event has grown over the last 5 years," head coach Scott Friedholm said. "We have been fortunate enough to see Baseball Night in Asheville sell out 4 of the last 5 years. This event literally changes the college experience for 31 baseball players at UNC Asheville. Every dollar raised from this night goes directly to our players, whether its gloves, bats, hotel rooms, buses, food, etc. This night creates an atmosphere where our players can see the support from the community."
The guest speaker for the event is Chris Narveson. Narveson pitched in parts of eight seasons in the Major Leagues with the Cardinals, Brewers and Marlins. He made his debut with the Cardinals in 2006 pitching in five games and winning a World Series title with the 2006 St. Louis team. The left-hander was best known for his time in Milwaukee when he threw more than 160 innings in 2010 and 2011 and won 23 games in those two seasons as a member of the Brewers rotation. He ended his career after spending the 2015 and 2016 seasons with the Miami Marlins. Narveson finished his career with a 30-19 record, a 4.71 ERA and 364 strikeouts.
"We are thrilled to have a local guy be our guest speaker this year," Coach Friedholm said. "Chris had a successful career that covered 8 years in the majors, but also a 17 year journey through baseball that I'm sure has some great life lessons, hardships, accomplishments, and funny stories. I can't wait to have our guys interact with him."
The title sponsor for "Baseball Night in Asheville" is Vannoy Construction. Other event sponsors include Twisted Laurel, Allegra, Highland Brewing, Biltmore Farms, Pepsi, Poppy and Alsco.
