UNC Asheville Cross Country Begins 2019 Season with Strong Effort at Covered Bridge Open

Men's Results
BOONE, N.C. – UNC Asheville men's and women's cross country kicked off the 2019 season Friday evening with strong efforts at the Covered Bridge Open in Boone, N.C.
The men's team finished in sixth place with an average time of 26:54.55, while the women finished seventh with an average time of 21:01.59
Sophomore Clara Wincheski paced the Bulldogs in the women's race with a time of 20:05.65. India Appleton wasn't far behind with a time of 20:34.70, while Ashley Tysiac and Morgan Costelloe finished with times of 21:12.39 and 21:27.42, respectively.
Senior Thomas Little had the highest Bulldog finish with a 13th place spot in the men's race with a time of 26:12.95. Fellow senior Graham Parker finished two spots behind Little with a time of 26:22.30, while Sage Turner was just off their lead with a time of 26:48.78. Freshman John Ciprich kicked off his UNC Asheville career with a time of 27:30.28
All in all, there were 12 Bulldogs competing in the men's race, while the women featured six Bulldogs.
Next, UNC Asheville will take a couple weeks off before competing in the USC Upstate Eye Opener, September 13.
