Volleyball Chosen Fourth in Preseason Polls

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville volleyball team was picked to finish fourth in the Big South Conference in the preseason polls.

The league made the official announcement on Thursday, August 1, 2019.

Last season, UNC Asheville made it all the way to the semifinal round in the Big South Tournament.

UNC Asheville volleyball won 10 of its last 11 matches to close out the 2018 season.

The Bulldogs' 10-match winning streak that was snapped in its Big South Tournament semifinal loss to High Point was its longest winning streak since 2005.

The Bulldogs' 16 wins this past season were the most for UNC Asheville since winning 17 in the 2013 season.

UNC Asheville enters the 2019 campaign coming off its most wins in conference play since the 2010 season with 10.

UNC Asheville was really strong at the Justice Center during the 2018 season. The Bulldogs were 10-4 on the season at the Justice Center. 10 home wins was the most since the 2015 season.

The Bulldogs have now won at least seven home matches in a single season for the last four seasons. In fact, the Bulldogs are 36-12 over the last four seasons at home.

The Bulldogs will open its 2019 season at the Georgia Tech Tournament on Aug. 30-31. The following weekend, UNC Asheville will host the UNC Asheville Invitational inside the Justice Center on Sept. 6-7.
