BUIES CREEK, N.C. – In a battle of two of the top teams in the Big South, UNC Asheville men's tennis dropped its first Big South Conference match of the season in a 5-2 loss to Campbell at the Nisbet Tennis Center.
"We had our chances today, but we were not able to take them," UNC Asheville men's tennis coach Tom Hand said. "There's a reason Campbell is the preseason favorite. They are a really good team. We need to regroup and come out firing again against Longwood tomorrow."

The Bulldogs from there would take wins at No. 1 and No. 5 singles.

At No. 5, UNC Asheville's Charlie Morkel defeated Aaron Cabo of Campbell 6-0, 6-2.
