ASHEVILLE, N.C. – UNC Asheville will hold its second annual Bulldog Challenge Facebook LIVE event from 7-8 p.m. on Thursday, March 28, 2019.
UNC Asheville athletics held its inaugural Facebook LIVE Bulldog Challenge event last year on Monday, March 26, 2018, and in just one hour raised over $17,000 (story).
This year's Bulldog Challenge Facebook LIVE event will allow fans to talk about their goals, compete in mini-challenges, and ultimately, end up in the water. The team that raises the most dollars will get the opportunity to dunk their coach in the Justice Center pool.

The 2019 Bulldog Challenge is in its second week, but already over $120,000 as of 3 p.m. on Wednesday, March 27, has been donated.
The UNC Asheville track and field program currently leads in donors with 82. The UNC Asheville baseball team leads in total dollars raised so far ($56,355). Â Â
The team with the most unique donors on March 31 will be crowned the 2019 Bulldog Challenge Champions.Â
The 2019 Bulldog Challenge is a little different than the past in that it is just two weeks this year (March 17-31).
Started in 2014 by Blose, the Bulldog Challenge at its beginning was created to help increase the student-athlete alumni giving participation rate at UNC Asheville.
The campaign was originally a month-long event designed to align with March Madness with all of the funds raised going towards the UNC Asheville team enhancement accounts.
During the first year in 2014 there were a total of 67 donors with $5,187 raised altogether. The next year there were 244 donors with $21,036 raised.
Over the years the annual Bulldog Challenge continued to become a staple for the university with the 2017 Bulldog Challenge going 265 percent past its original goal of $40,000 with $107,015 raised.
Last year, UNC Asheville set an ambitious goal of $125,000. Once again, Bulldog fans and friends were more than up to the challenge with a record $131,963 raised. An impressive nearly $35,000 of the over $130,000 donated was raised by current UNC Asheville student-athletes.
This year's goal during the two-week Bulldog Challenge is even more ambitious with efforts in place to hopefully raise $175,000.
Every dollar – and every donor – helps strengthen the UNC Asheville student-athlete experience.Â
Give back today and help your team create the next generation of champions – on the court and in the classroom.Â
