Bulldogs Close Out Successful Spring Break Trip to Florida With Play Day at Jupiter Bay Tennis Club

JUPITER, Fla. – UNC Asheville men's tennis closed out a special week in the Sunshine State with a unique play day at the Jupiter Bay Tennis Club.
"This event was so much fun," UNC Asheville men's tennis head coach Tom Hand said. "I know the guys had a blast spending some time with the members, who all have been so supportive and welcoming of our team."
The special play day at the Jupiter Bay Tennis Club was made possible thanks to owners Mike and Denee Massie, who are the parents of current Bulldogs James Massie of the men's tennis team and Kylee Shipley of the women's tennis team. Shipley was also in attendance at the play day.
The play day at the Jupiter Bay Tennis Club came on the heels of the UNC Asheville men's tennis five-match road swing over the course of spring break. Four of the five matches were in Florida with the Bulldogs picking up wins over Stetson, FGCU and Boston University during their time in the state.
UNC Asheville men's tennis closed out the non-conference portion of its schedule with an impressive 13-2 overall record.
Next the Bulldogs will open their Big South Conference season when they host Radford at the Asheville Racquet Club Downtown on Saturday, March 23, at 1 p.m. A day later UNC Asheville will travel to Rock Hill, S.C. for a conference matchup versus Winthrop at 1 p.m.
